Apostille and Legalisation
Apostille and Legalisation
Direct contact with Foreign and Commonwealth Office and Embassies
Often the country receiving the documents will not accept them without ‘legalisation’. Generally this is by way of the attachment of an Apostille at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office.
My signature and seal is recognised by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office automatically.
It is also possible to attach an Apostille to other official documents including UK Birth, Death and Marriage Certificates, UK Court Orders and other documents issued by UK Government bodies and Institutions. You can check on the Foreign and Commonwealth Office website to see which documents they will accept without having them notarised first.
For certain countries it is also necessary to obtain further consular approval from the relevant Embassy or Bureau. I can do this for you as part of my service to you if necessary. I can also use Agents to assist with all stages of legalisation particularly where documents are required urgently in the foreign country.
