Seeing a Notary - What to expect
The Notaries Society has published a leaflet entitled, “Seeing a Notary” and this is my summary.
I would be grateful if you would telephone before setting out to see me so that I can talk to you about the documents and your requirements.
Please do telephone or email to make an appointment. I aim to be available every day for Notary appointments.
I will need to see you personally and you will need to bring with you your proof of identity (such as a valid passport or driving licence) and proof of address (such as a bill or bank statement sent by post to your home address and dated in the last 3 months).
It is helpful if you can arrange for the legal documents which you want notarising to be sent to me by email before the appointment.
I will need to make certain that you understand the documents before signing them. I will therefore need to see an English translation in all cases.
I may also need to see other documents as evidence of statements or facts before notarising documents.
If the documents are straight forward and have already been prepared correctly I would envisage that I will need to see you for about 15-20 minutes and then I will take a further 15-20 minutes to complete the documents (depending on how many documents there are to be notarised). If there are a large bundle of documents to be notarised or they require an Apostille or other legalisation I will usually suggest that you come back on another day to collect them.
I am normally available Monday to Friday between 9am and 5pm. I can see you at any of the offices of Wosskow Brown Solicitors in Sheffield or I can come to your home or place of work if required. I am also willing to see you outside office hours at a mutually convenient time.
I will charge a proper fee for the work in order to meet the demands of providing a good professional service. There may also be fees to pay to third parties. Please do contact me for a quote.
